The May 12-14, 2006 Carthage, TX , Celebration of Flight Balloonfest is a hot air balloon festival held at the airport. A hangar dance and live music are planned for Friday and Saturday nights after the glow. Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings are flights over town that originate at the airport. A car show and antique tractor show are planned for Saturday at the airport. GA aircraft are invited to fly in during the day and stay for the glow. Admission is $5 for everyone with children under 6 being admitted free. There will be food and fun onsite so come on out. This is a scholarship fundraiser to benefit students attending Panola College.
